I am picking up a Jeep Dana 300 for my Scout, and I just picked up a Jeep 727 adapter for my IH 727 to Dana 300 swap. I know I need the Jeep trans output shaft but what else do I need? I am trying to find a output shaft but I dont know the length I need. Please if you have a good link to info on this swap or you know what I need it would be much appreciated.:mad2:

The Jeep 727 output shaft must be the correct one for a d300! Very important!

The output shaft is the last part to come out of a 727 (any version of a 727) and one of the first parts that goes in during an overhaul. So it's best that you plan to spend the cashola for a transmisssion rebuild at the same time.

Monte just got caught in this same dilemma regarding a 300 that he thought was the "good" one, turned out it was a quadratrak case!

Other than the swapping of the actual output shafts, this is a very straightforward deal, just like when we install the azzend of a d20 setup from an sii 727 into a chrysler version case for a mopar engine swap.

I'll soon have some Scout II 727 cores torn down into pieces to be used for selective builds for projects just like you are talking about. No reason to waste another sii 727 tranny. These units will be built to order for maximum performance and durability and available exclusively through ihon with complete documentation.
