INTRODUCTIONS

Re: Introductions

I'm tyson from santaquin, utah. I am about to start a crawler build on a 68' Scout 800. I hope to meet some good people and get some worthwhile input and advise on my build. When I get started I will post some pics and let you follow the build if you would like.

Re: Introductions

Hey all,

I'm jack in oakland...met a few of you at a dinner in fremont a couple months ago. I've got a 79 Scout II that is my new time sync if not with kids. I look forward to meeting scouters. I work in livermore and live in oakland. Any oaklanders?

Cheers, jack

Re: Introductions

Welcome aboard im not in oakland but work in alameda btw nice bumper I got to chang mine one day :icon_xp:

Re: Introductions

Hello sappatack,

the bumper is prettier than her reality...I went to pull it off to clean it up and paint it and found it was welded on and has significant rust. I'm working on the bumper next while it is on the truck. Neighbors are not crazy about the outdoor sanding limiting the hours I can work on it. Rrrrr.

Sappatack (others?), if you want to swing by oakland to talk ihc over a beer, let me know.

Cheers, jack

Re: Introductions

Hey oaklank jack, nice Scout II. Fwiw the bumper can be removed, just need a cutoff wheel and some time. That bumper I have is nice, I guess I could wash it off and take a pic.

Welcome. I make down there every now and them

Re: Introductions

Hello, brandon in santa clara. Just bought my first Scout on Monday and looking forward to building this thing up and hopefully getting a chance to wheel with some other Scout owners.

Re: Introductions

I've already met a few of you guys at hollister but thought I should post a proper intro.

I'm bart, and have had several scouts over the last 15 years, down to one now for the last 10 years.

We live in alviso where I have my shop, I do sheet metal restoration, fabrication and body and paint as a part time business. It will be full time as on as we sort out some of the legal details.

I'm into cars in general, not just scouts, we have a 71 bmw and a 57 Jeep fc170 I'm restoring.

Any questions?

After almost a year of wrenching on my Scout II it's almost road worthy. The ihon forum has been invaluable in helping me figure out what's what with these old beasts and I know I would be a lot farther from the road if not for the knowledge of all the contributors.

Anyhow I figured it was about time I post up here and I plan on showing up at the classic diner this Tuesday.

You usually start up at 7?

Hope to see you there.
