IHCS needs your help.

congratulations kathy and Mike. Welcome to the Travelall portion of the club. There is absolutely nothing better than riding down the road on your couch. Even with all the years of sitting on ernie's lot, it is still a very nice rig. Kathy will love it.

I wonder if she will let me take it for a drive up the river the next time we are at your place?

She's gittin' all wound up about the luxomobile! She'll be home tomorrow, can't pick her up in it though...it don't stop wurf shit!

But yore rambleall will run rings around this one even with the built motor it's got. I built the carb a few months ago never expecting that Mike would make it a runner! So I didn't "test" the carb. Well...even though it starts ok, the idle quality is crap after getting the distributor dialed in today. So the metering block is going to have to come back off the carb and get that "special" surgery. The rotten fuel in this carb was one of the worst I've ever seen so I should have handled it then...live and learn bites yore azz every time!

Even with the poor idle quality, I can tell this motor is gonna be lumpy and not as electric motor smooth as a stocker cam.

Looking through the stack of repair orders spread over two years and thousands of thousands of dineros...I see three fuel tank selector valves replaced in less than one year...and each time the price of the valve went up! Guess what...fuel is droolin' out of the selector valve right now! But it smells like alcohol and not gasoline varnish so that is good! I got a load of reconditioned tank valves on the shelf now so it's no biggee.

The a/c system does operate as it should (compressor has the normal cci/york death rattle), though one of the vacuum motors appears to be non-func, I have several replacements for those. However, the r-12 leaked out 20 years ago (or ernie/ron stole it and sold it to someone else!). I gotta stash of r-12 still even after wastin' sum of it on el presidente's dd sii rallye so as soon as the brakes are usable, I'll suk down the system and recharge and see if it blows varmints out the vents.

Nice, you need to start a build thread mayben. Glad to see kathy is finally getting something that will be drivable. Seems like scouts are forever projects so who knows when she would get her 80 out of you....

Momma gits home this evening, once she sets her butt in that pristine driver seat and I see a grin, I'll know whether this one is gonna stick! Tha dawgs is already tryin' to figger out why the lift gate won't raise up when they bark like on tha dodge.

The build thread is comin', camera got real hot yesterday from firin' tha flash. It's been in the shop now 24 hours...and not a single dam drop of fluid on the floor other than the fuel selector valve leak...that ain't right, but I did check that it's got oil in it...11 quarts+ in fact.

Sumbuddy has installed a dam Scout II pancake booster and mc on it in the past. No wonder tha front brakes ain't shit, even though mikee installed new wheel cylinders and flex hoses (thank you for spending the big lockheed bucks!!!). I bet ernie and ron "borrowed" the oem setup and forgot to give it back...prolly around 1992?? I know ken roth wouldn't do that...but mikee????

Wasn't me man! I hadn't had a chance to pull anything off of that one yet. :cornut: and first on the list would have been that kick ass compass!....:ihih:

I can see ron's asscrack out under the hood of that rig in about 1999 "borrowing" the mc/booster with the idea that since the rig was semi-abandoned,...who cares???

Neighbormikes grandaughter thinks that compass is some kinda laser light show (she's only two!). She's now adopted the driver's seat as her own and is working on wearing out the horn!

Kathy was not impressed with the compass since she don't know her left from her right anyway...so it will come out and be delivered to ya to become an uber-focal point. She has trouble following directions on the tomtom too!

You are the man! I'd love to have that sucker back. :cornut:
