Harry's Rebuild

I tell you what, 56 just cant be enough to be going senile. My memory of the clutch from just last night in the garage wasn't good enough to realize that the only way to install the clutch is withthe bolts in place. They are adjusters of a sort I assume. Oh well. "all the things that I have lost in my life, I guess I miss my mind the most..."

I wouldn't touch them. They are used to adjust the geometry of the fingers in a mechanically linked clutch system. In your case you will have more than enough adjustment range in your linkage to get it right without messing with them.

Some clutch fingers are built with a rounded finger that takes place of the bolt you see there and have an adjustable lever fulcrum. Others have the bolt and a fixed fulcrum. Just different ways to the same end.

In your case the fulcrum is not adjustable so the finger tips have the adjuster.. The finger geometry is set at the rebuild shop to a spec with the clutch disk (or gauge plate mimicking the disk) in place and clamped to the flywheel

Heck, no. Not even thinking about it...
