Hey folks. Got some questions here. Baught a 1969 Scout 800a recently with a 304 and the three speed manual transmission in it. It's 4 wheel drive and I'm just wondering if anybody could tell me the name of the transmission I have and maybe which transfer case as well. Help is much appreciated. Motor needs to be replaced I got it and it was running but somehow only on three cylinders. I've got about 5k set aside for a new engine but am uncertain on which way to go, so any input there is also welcome. Not afraid to spend a little more I just want a reliable motor and trans setup for years to come. Open to staying IH and going with a transplant. Either way would be nice

The t-case is a Dana 20. Stock axles would be a Dana 44 in the rear and Dana 30 up front. Running on only 3 cylinders is pretty amazing, but these pigs will do it. You might be surprised what some attention paid to the ignition and fuel system would do for your current engine. Easier than a swap.
