Gear change possibility?

My sons truck is back on the road, (was my grandfathers), and although we knew it was geared low, it is really low.

1962 c110, 345, t98, 235/75/15 tires.

We dont have a speedometer or tach hooked up yet, (see ad looking for part), but on my gps 50mph seems like we are at 3000. The truck barely made it to 55 when it was a 6cyl and 3spd.

I dont know which axle it has yet, or ratio, other than its 6 lug, tapered axles, with a drop out third member and no back cover.

From what I have read and searched, it looks like nobody has ring and pinions to put a higher gear in the truck?

Suggestions? I would like to get the ratio where 60-65 would be realistic for freeway driving.

Thanks

You're probably looking at a swap to something more common and modern which May involve some minor fabrication for spring perch mounting, different wheels and tires and possible driveline/u-joint modification. The different wheel and tire arrangement in the rear would then likely present implications for your front wheel and tire set up as well.
