Fixed Intake Spring, now Carb issues

Ok I have been posting alot about my issues with the 345 Scout II. Well I got the intake valve done and it runs much better, will hold idle under load, (putting it in drive) now, and the vaccuum is 17 soild rather than the 12 - 15 bouncing oscilation I had. But now the issue is the truck runs much better at partial choke, and cuts out when I open up the chole after warming. I had taken the jets on the 4160 down to to it running Rich (smell of gas), prior to me finding the intake spring on #6 was shattered. So I am thinking now it wasn't jet size but the dead cylinder creating the smell of gas.
I think I need to place the bigger jets in now, that all 8 are working.

Any opinions, I think I am running #64 or #65's now, whatever the jet size for the 806457, (sorry dont remember number) Holley jet size was.

I am using old plugs until I get it running somewhat close then will change to new to fine tune things so no spark plug info will be available yet.

Indeed. I have to agree with the new plugs. They are somewhat cheap enough to buy two sets. If everything works out well with the first set of plugs, you can always return them later. Or hang onto them as spares for the next time you do a tune up.
