345 "crate" motor
old parts being transplanted
drivers side upper water tube seems like it is not "long" enough to seal in the water pump. By feel it seems that it is about 1/8 inch short of getting a solid seal. My first attempt was done with a 216 o ring and a slight bit of silicone. It lasted for a couple minutes. I read up a bit and thought that the 217 might solve the problem. Resealed it and it is even worse. Questions are:
can I bend the water tube to extend further towards the water pump seal?
Is my water pump seal, or whatever the tube seals to, lip too far gone to use?
Can I use multiple o rings?
Since there is quite a bit of space around the tube entering the bore can I fill the void with some sort of "sealer" to solve this problem?
I have two tubes that both look like good parts. The rear seal is perfect on both.
Do I need to uploard a pic of the tube in question?
Thanks in advance all.
