new data?
Burned chips?
Ran the con?
I'm waiting on the latest chip before I log more data although I May log some before the next chip.
We didn't make it to the con'. We were heading up i80 when Darren's Scout started fuel starving(we've since found out the fairly new fuel pump was dieing). Being the hardcore dude's that we are we decided to keep going on when all of a sudden our buddy walt pulled over in his 70's landcruiser. The crossover steering arm on the passenger side knuckle pulled out of the knuckle. At that point it was tow truck time since two of our three rigs were broke! I had to tow the small Jeep trailer that the landcruiser was towing back to my shop and guide the tow truck here as well. I'm giving up on taking anymore vacations as everyone I've tried to go on this year has been cancelled last minute.
As for my Scout some notable problems on this trip up to around 6500 feet and back:
surging on light acceleration - with the fuel problems Darren's Scout was having we were pulling over quite frequently. Everytime I was heading up the freeway onramp getting back up to speed the Scout would surge. It would smooth out once we were up to speed but the surge wasn't normal. I plan on a fuel pressure test first chance I get as it felt more fuel related than spark.
Low vacuum at idle - noticed the vacuum gauge was reading 11" when we were up the mountain.
Died when getting off the freeway here in Loomis. Acted as if the iac went out of range or something. That might have just been a fluke.
Overall I feel that the 454 tb is too big. Will we basically have to start over on the chips if I swap in a 350 throttle body? I feel the Scout will be torquer with the smaller throttle plates as it seems to have lost some torque with the fuel injection. I still need to check on those injector numbers.
