Dana 44 front 4bbl intake SW Idaho

Not a lot posted in idaho right now. Looking for Dana 44 open knuckle front axle. Have 4.27 gearing right now so that's a bonus but not required. Also in the 4bbl spread bore intake market.

Not sure what shipping an axle would be but entertaining options.

Thanks

Have you checked the local wrecking yards like pick-n-pull?

There might be one or two laying around somewhere out here on the west coast that one of the forum members might wanna part with.

There is a '71 1010 Travelall in a pick-n-pull in goldendale, wa. I know, because I pulled some parts off of it this past Wednesday. It would be a bit of a road trip for you, but the rig is still pretty complete minus the parts I snaked. The engine is still intact, minus the carb. It has a 4bbl squarebore manny which would most likely make the engine a 392 non-ic, but could also be a 345. Same intake will fit either engine.

Haven't really had a lot of success with the junkyards around here and they usually want double the $$ for the parts. But I want to keep moving on this project so I'll give it some more effort this next week.

Patience when it comes to the junkyards. It is deffinately a hit or miss with these old irons heacies. As soon as I can find the proper inner seals for my own front axle and able to swap it into my 73 beast, I might end up having a front spare Dana 44 laying around collecting dust. Unless one of my local Scout guys ends up going through with a 4x4 conversion in his Scout  he'll be needing a front axle if he does.

Still looking, I have a carb, just need the intake for a 345. Can't remember if the 392 is the same size.

Well I have a thermoquad so I just need the intake. If you're willing to split it and ship it what's your price to ship to boise, 83702?

That Holley should be on a square bore intake. Your tq will not work without an adapter, if there's one even made??? The tq is a spread bore carb. I think there is an adapter from square to spread, but not from spread to square. Someone will probably confirm????

All these things I had no idea about. Does this mean I'm over my head....I guess that's why these forums can be gems. There are adapters to go either direction spread intake to square carb and square intake to spread carb (which I guess is the easier). I'm leaning towards apples to apples and no adapters. So the search is for a spread bore...
