Corn gas

I recently was out of town and rented a dodge caravan that was flexfuel/e85 capable.

Since the e85 was almost a whole dollar less per gallon I thought I would try it out.

I now understand why less than a 1/3 or buyers of alternative fuel vehicles don't repurchase another one when it comes time to purchase a new vehicle.

While the corn gas cost considerably less it wasn't balanced by the considerably greater amount of gas I had to use.

With the normal 10% corn gas I was getting 22-25 mpg. With the e85 I was getting 13-16 mpg.

Somehow I don't think I can save the environment at that rate.

3.7l with 6-speed automatic.

I prefer the 3.8l/4-speed automatic in our 2000 chrysler t&c--same fuel mileage and a whole lot more get up and go.
