converting to power steering

I have a 1966 travelette 1200a (see signature) that came with the 05003 s-3 steering gear. It has a power stereing kit, either factory and not listed on the line setting ticket or dealer-added. It consists of a valve body in place of a solid drag link on the driver's side, and a hydraulic cylinder on the passenger's side.

Is there a p/s steering box (I.e. From a square body pickup or t'all) that would bolt in? At tis time I'm just searching for alternatives and considering my options to this rather unusual (at least to me) p/s system. I don't want to make this too big a project right now that would involve replacing the steering column and etc., but down the road I would consider it.

I understand also that the "big 6" lug pattern will be an issue in the not too distant future. I'm seeking recommendations for a workaround in that department too.

I thank you for your input!

If I were you and assuming the power steering is working ok now, I would save my money and start collecting the parts to convert it over to some newer more readily available running gear my first choice would be Chevy. You can pick up a 14 bolt pretty cheap. You didn't mention if it was 4x4 or not. I actually think the conversion of a 4 wheel drive would be easier than a 2 wheel drive model to a more conventional lug pattern and power steering configuration
just my .02

Opps, I forgot to mention that all this was precipitated by the p/s being inop right now and it is a 2-wheel drive with fa-10 and ra-16 axles. Jeff is sending me a drag link I can use in place of the power steering assist valve body (which is the problem link) and run on manual steering in the interim.

A friend has offered the axles on a 1210 parts rig which has an 8-bolt pattern, which I am considering.

I thank you for the input, Chad.
