Cold starts

Sorry for the delay in posting have been tracing wires under my dash everything checked out good ever thing still oem but the radio. After retiming using #8 cylinder same as before and installing jumper from battery and new plugs it started. With some adjusting of the timing it starts without jumper. How should I replace the resister wire that is no longer needed cut at bulkhead or where?

You can go the way scoutboy has described and it'll work fine.

if you are good with connectors, you can extract the bulkhead connector contact from the engine side and wire the new wire into the contact directly. Then reinsert it. You have to be careful this way as if you damage the housing or contact you'll have to source a new one. They are around but not as your local autozoo.
