In all seriousness drew it says that the vehicles have to be drivable. Most all of your old IH iron is just sitting around waiting to be worked on.:gringrin:
 
Here is another nice piece of legislation they were playing with in washington. Fortunatley it was defeated last year, but you can bet they'll be back.

wa state engine displacement fee bill



the bill is sb 6900 and it adds an "engine displacement" fee to the
vehicle license tabs upon renewal.

The fee has a varied amount depending on the size of the vehicle's engine:

engine size (liters) rate schedule
up to 1.9 $0
2.0 - 2.9 $70
3.0 - 3.9 ; $225
4.0 - 4.9 $275
5.0 - 5.9 $325
6.0 - 7.9 $400
8.0 or over $600

What's the first step Mike? Lock and load the woodsmaster 740 and declare open season in salem? My sense is there are a fair number of folks frequenting this forum who share your general sentiments to one degree or another. Pink-slippin' the gummint sounds fantastic, but how do we get from here to there? They didn't git tuh where they is cuz they's stoopid, lazy or easy tuh git rid of.

Where or where did the $35.00 car tab disappear to is what I want to know!

They now charge us extra based upon how much the vehicle weighs (I sure would like to see the vehicles that aren't charged the weight surcharge--they must be the proverbial beer can on a roller skate).

Now they are wanting to charge us an extra charge for the size of the engine.

And in or they are wanting to charge you by the mile for fuel taxes!

I think all of this legislation is a bunch of bunk. If the fees went into things like fixing the roads I might not be so upset. But when so much of the $$$ gets funnelled into things like vera katz's promenade along the willamette or extending light rail to places people don't want to go it really frosts my cake.

Perhaps if there weren't so many people working in olympia or salem the need for so many $$$ wouldn't be there.

I really wonder what it will take for the dimbulbs who have voted in the big government tax and spend people to finally figure out the problem is the government and not the lack thereof.

Well, the problem... Hmm. There is more than one variable in this entire thing we call government and our happiness.

I can tell you one thing though the nature of the problem is that the nation is no longer of one mind. We have no identity really. Without a national identity no government in the world, big or small, is going to be successful in the peoples eyes. Regulate this and only one group is happy while the others are pissed. De regulate that and again one group is happy and the others are pissed. The only president for me is myself... And I am sure none of you would like the united states of merrick.:icon_eek:

the solution is simple... Bend everyone else to your will and you will find that regulation takes care of itself. Totalitarian 101, military 095. :winky:
