can't start after engine overheating

I'm sitting near disneyland / not part of trip or plans. My engine started smoking on highway
right before I think it was engine coolant seemed to burst from the hood and covered windshield. I let Scout sit and checked fluids. Oil had gotten really low. Added some. I noticed that the engine coolant did not get any lower from its fill container. I added some coolant into radiator after cap cooled down. Engine still was smoking but quickly dissipated. Some of the rubber on spark plug wires were burnt and most of the wires had popped off. I connected all wires and when tried to start it would not turn over. Any suggestions. Did the engine burn out spark plugs? Can I just replace them to get car running or is it possibly now something worse.

This sounds bad. If the starter won't crank the engine over, then new spark plugs won't solve anything. The coolant that escaped had to have come from somewhere. Blown hose? Failed head gasket? How did the oil level get so low? Have you got bad oil leaks? Is this engine a major oil burner? Or did you just forget to check the level before you got on the road? I don't think you're looking at a an easy fix-n-go here. You May have cooked that engine. It needs to go into the shop for careful inspection by a knowledgeable wrench turner. I'd forget about driving it any further until that can be done.
 
I had a similar situation, in mine the head gasket had blown and the engine was full of coolant. The starter couldn't turn it over. Good thing too because it would have broken a rod if it had.
