It would help to know what you are working on, but for starts I would move the top of the shoe on the right side of your pictures so it is directly oposite the one on the left side of the pivot.

See, the real problem is you have replaced your brakes with breaks....one is designed to stop your truck, the other lets it rest.:d:d:d

I'll give you credit for posting a photo of your issue. Thanks!

Did you not rebuild the slave cylinders???

Crack the bleeder screw open a bit and let the shoe retract.

Sorry, is it just me, or does it look like the top end of the shoe on the right side of the picture is not sitting on the pivot like the shoe on the left is? Kind of looks like it is stuck up behind the pivot, which is raising it up and pushing it out.

So I think I figured out some of the problem the breaks need to front shoe and an back shoe need to be changed. Where they are siting

Still have the same problem. I think the shoe is just a little off
the bar (strut) that the sits in is holding it up
I think I'm going to try to grind it out a little so everything fits

Wow! What's am I missing beside the brake cable and one other piece that left just check if I could get them to fit. I'm sorry wasted your time I will stop posting questions. I'm new to this we all to start some where. Maybe in in over my head and should just sell it.

Just curious, is the other drum shoes and hardware still intact and untouched yet? It's a starting point to see how everything is placed. If not, ask a friend, with a 6 pack in hand, to take the time and look at how the brakes are on their vehicle. Mostly they are very similar. Worse case is that you received the wrong shoes for your drums

Yes I have looked at every picture I can find. The other side is fitting and have it off and looked at it. When I put the shoe on it the parking break link seems to be stoping from fitting. I think 2 things one shoe is just 1/8 or 1/16 off or I need to figure out how to mover the parking break lever back to give a little more room to the left. I have to go out of town for the week so next week we will keep going at it . I will try to take some better pictures.

Seems like you need to release the parking brake cable more. The lever seems to be pulled forward. Did you try and back the parking brake linkage as much as possible.?

Did you compare all of the right and left brake parts? One could be wrong. Use the working side as the parts the other should match.

Also make sure you pinch the horse shoe retainers down around the pins. Hoping you were just mocking things up...

The cable that goes to each wheel is connected somewhere forward about at the read of the trans. There is a way there to slack it off. If the cable is already sagging and slack, make sure the leg that goes to the problem brake is not stuck. I like to soak the cables with spray lube like lps 2 and that will usually geterdone. Might need to work it some to loosen it up good.

So I still have the break issue. I disconnected the ebrake cable to see if that did anything to do with it. Still had the same problem. I put the old breaks back on same problem. The adjuster cable seemed tight so took the out of the equation still had the same problem.

I have tried old breaks with old hardware and new breaks with the old hardware with no luck.

Just to confirm in a 67 Scout 800 the shoe with the more pad on it goes toward the back of the car right?

I feel like I have them adjusted out far as the can go. Any other ideas for me ?

Or should I just sell it? Had guy want to trade me for his Jeep today?

Hondo, I don't understand your question? The adjuster wheel should be as short as possible? I should not be adjusting them out to put tension on the breaks? Someone in this thread said to adjust the breaks out so they where just clearing the drum .0001 of in inch is all you need. What you are saying is not to do that the adjust should be a cranked to be as short as possible.
