not sure what that bolt would be for. Don't think mine has one. There are lots of different mc's manufactured former this application.
Quite possibly the bolt is just a mechanical connection, nothing
to do with the hydraulics. After cleaning off the outside of the
mc and letting it stand overnight there's a thin band of wetness
around the top of the reservoir, as if the fluid is somehow
wicking over the edge and down the outside. Maybe that's the
leak all by itself.
In any event it's clear a new mc is needed, the pedal sag has
gotten noticeably worse in the course of the last couple days'
testing. I placed the order on IHPA's website a few minutes ago,
hopefully it'll be here in a few days.
Now to find some speed bleeders......
