Borg Warner 11 (AKA T-39) vacuum modulator

you are now the ofishul beeneeweenee tranny dude!

Thanks, but until I tear the whole thing apart it's not ofishul :smile5:
I put all this in the same thread but wish I could change the title and drop the vacuum modulator part since I covered the whole valve body rebuild etc. Might help someone else at some point.

I think whatcha got posted is just fine...that is a "typical" situation on this old junk where one issue always leads to even more!

And it made us do our homework, you were able to work through the process and not shotgun it pointing fingers at the wrong root cause!

With so few IH-related folks dealing with these boxes (or at least talking about it!), there are not many opportunities for working through problems like this! And while they are "similar" to other slushbox designs, they do have their own particular problematic areas (due to lack of maintenance) regarding the shift sequence/timing and the combination vacuum/electric controls system for kickdown. Much more difficult to diagnose/deal with than regards a tf 727!

Good point, and anyone looking for info in a search will read all posts dealing with the bw-11. I searched any and everywhere I could and read everything I could find.
I am glad I got this one back to working good, my flywheel was balanced to the engine when I rebuilt it all back in nov. Wasn't looking forward to a tranny change either!!
