I'm getting ready to swap a TBI setup on to my '85 Chevy 454 - I 'think' I have all the parts lined up. But I still have a few questions.
I am going from a running TBI IH 304 to a converted TBI 454 Chevy.
1) wiring differences - the only thing I am aware off is the tps and iac are wired a touch different than the smaller stuff.
2) adapter -- do I really need the huge water cooler oem adapter? And can I run it without water in it?
3) fuel pressure - I've heard they run at a higher pressure than the smaller stuff? Fact or fiction? I have a 0-15 psi gauge and it would be sweet if it worked for the new setup.
4) rev limiter - is there anything in the stock ECM for this? I knew and could 'feel' the limit on my 304 and also wasn't worried about blowing it up - but the 454 is all new to me and I'd rather not kill it right away.
5) fuel pump - all the cool kids are switching from e2000's to e8248's pumps - anyone tried one?
Thanks!!!
