Basic wiring diagram to run my new motor before I drop the body

68 1200C 345 with a GM style alternator & voltage reg & Hamilton electronic dist & coil. I'll also be using the factory ign switch & oil pressure gauge.
I'm wanting to fire up my new motor checking for leaks & tweaks. I haven't seen a ballast resistor so I don't believe this would be on my schematic. I'll be installing the radiator for cooling. What please would be the temporary wiring needed to conduct this exercise? Thank you

12VDC Battery, Starting circuit, Charging circuit, Ignition circuit, Oil pressure and Water temp gauges/wiring.
Just the basics, same as when installed in the truck.

Examine the wire that is mean to go to coil positive terminal. Originally your truck would have had a resistor wire for voltage reduction to protect the breaker points instead of a ceramic ballast resistor. Those wires are odd looking ugly ducklings that are much longer than you'd think they should be to make the run, but that excess length (72 inches) is what created the @ 1.8 ohms of resistance to protect the breaker points. It's the only wire in the entire loom that will have a cloth-like insulator sleeve sheathing the actual wire. With your electo-digical spark make-it-happener setup, you generally feed those a full 12 volts, so no resistor wire or ballast block required.
