Aftermarket fuel pump 152 ci

I have a 1965 turbo scout 80 152ci. It has 32’000 miles on it. The original fuel pump quit working, so we put an aftermarket pump in it. It’s been running great for 2 years. Then quit pumping fuel. We replaced it with a brand new pump, and it worked for three days. Is there a possibility that the lobe that controls the fuel pump arm could be broken? Not sure what else to look into? Thanks for any advice!

You should be able to test if the pump is making suction if removed from the engine. Its more likely that you got a pump that was ready to fail right out of the box.
