accelerator pedal

Is the end of the accelerator cable crimped by the pedal or soldiered?? Need to get pedal out without damaging cable if possible

Assuming this is the sii in your album, there is a plastic grommet pressed into the pedal arm which holds the throttle cable in place. Push the grommet out and you will see that it has a notch which allows it to be slipped over and off of the cable, at which point the cable is free to retract from the pedal arm completely.

Thanks for the reply.. I ended up figuring that out I just didn't pay attention to it having the bushing in the bottom to hold cable. Now just to shape the pedal back how its suppose to be and make it solid..

Yep. The way I fixed my droopy pedal arm...(talking about the Scout part, not something else)...was to take a short chunk of 1/16" wall rectangle tubing and sleeve that over the pedal arm. Then I welded the sleeve in place with it spanning the trouble area. Then I drilled a hole in the thicker metal to make a new pivot point. Actually I May have drilled the hole first and then welded...oldtimers has me fuzzy on the exact order. At any rate, it ain't purdy, but it is far more stout than the original config could ever hope to be.
