The trip went well except for the last 50 feet....

I was loaded down, weighing in over 16,000 which made for a slow trip down! First gear and 20 mph was required for grants pass and some of the longer passes!

every body, even the slow semi's were passing me. It took about 14 hours with breaks for lunch and dinner. Got to my new place's driveway and it was very steep, but I made it most of the way up until I lost traction. The guy that owns the house, paul, was able to help pull me up with his pickup. I jumped out to loosen the chain, got it off and was walking back to the truck when I heard a "ping" of the parking pawl as it was coming out of park!

the truck started going back down the hill, I ran and jumped in the door, the trailer hit the dirt bank, spun the pickup around and threw me out as I was holding onto the door. It jackknifed and the pickup spun around and ripped the back bumper off and slammed into the trailer with me in between it.

the drivers door was open and took most of the impact and it probably saved my legs. I got the wind hella knocked out of me and my legs are banged up, but I'm still alive! I'll be limping around for a while, but that is a small price to pay for what could have happened. The bed got caved in and the whole drivers side was dented/ smashed. The Scout got dented on the drivers side towards the back, but the trailer is fine! The factory weld at the tongue is cracked, but I'm going to grind it out and reweld it. Jeff, my new neighbor, and paul helped to get the trailer moved and the Scout off. Have to figure out why my hubs aren't working now...

Jeff used his winch and we pulled the bed into a straighter piece. I also took the fender and door off and managed to straighten the fender into a bit better shape. 4 out of the 6 door bolts busted, so I punched out tho old nuts and welded on new ones. Anyway, the weather has been awesome up here and I couldn't ask for a better job, boss, and living arrangement!
