A funny thing happened...

When one drives an old 'binder one is always being confronted with people who don't know what an old 'binder is.

For instance, when I transferred the title on my t-all I not only had to explain what a t-all was but had to explain that ihc was an oem just like kenworth, freightliner, or Ford.

Yesterday I got in the mail my new insurance card for my t-all. It came with a letter from the insurance company asking for my assistance.

It seems farmer's insurance is unable to verify the vin on my t-all.

Gee, I wonder why that would be? Could it be that my t-all doesn't have a vin?

I've done the same many times with farmer's who we used for years.

We changed to allstate several years ago as they were the only underwriter who could do our flood insurance coverage (thanks to fema fuckups years ago that they refuse to correct) and keep all our vehicle insurance billing simplified and straight.

About once a month, my allstate agent calls me to have me explain again, about how the "vin" shit works for "old" motor vehicles in the u.s. Market! And this is a guy who spent many years in dealerships as an f&I tweek!

He's gotta new hire in his office now, when I called in for coverage on the latest t'all last week, I spent about 15 minutes with him explaining the vin deal (and lack thereof) to him, I told 'em that from now on if they wanted more training regarding engine number /serial number/vin, that the discount needs to be increased another 5 points in the future since I'm now a"consultant".

And guess what...the new hire is a former f&I manager for one of the lithia points.

aw shit! Yer fucked for life now!

That's what I thought when he told me his "background".

But then I told him my background! I also reminded 'em they could call me to bail 'em out of not knowin' shit about old iron (since they are tryin' to make a market for that stuff locally), but that would be forthcoming in the future for consideration in some regard.

I understand that lithia is still tryin' ta git paid out of yore taxpockets for subsidizing "cash for klunkers" so all our welfare cases can drive new GM products and burn some taxpocket-subsidized e10 to revive this economy!

Tru nuff. Got the fuckin' smoke blo pollutin' the airwaves from all angles as we speak. What they orta be doin' is yousin' it exkloosivlee tuh likweedayt their surplus of auto-speedin' tie-yoteez that they can't give away. That begs the question though...just how hard can a fucked over golf cart actually accelerate?
