That storage compartment looks great. I've wanted to do that to my Scout, but now that the bed is line-x'ed it's not really an option.

Perhaps a shelf with an upturned lip might be handy too.

Hey looking good! I am doing the exact same thing. Your liner turned out good.

Got to look up penn valley see where that is!

P.s. Good taste in beer! Stocked up last night with some ballast point and dogfish head for the weekend Scout work load.

Sweet. I'm planning on using the same product for doing exactly what you did. Did you use the one gallon or two gallon kit? I ended up getting the two gallon kit just in case.

Penn valley is up near Grass Valley..good choice in beer I like ballast point!

Yep went with the two gallon..you'll have some leftover but you couldn't do the whole tub in two coats with out it.

Deep breath. ..drink a beer.....I would separate the circuits I was not planning on using first. Then bundle separate the dash, rear lights, and engine compartment. Are you going to use wire loom material? Its a lot easier to get around the wires before there routed.

Yea split loom should be here today along with some extra wire..plan is to start with tail lights and work forward..biggest concern is most of old wires are missing so kind of flying blind

I've never done one of these new fancy wire looms, however at one time I used to take cadillac wire looms and cut them open to use in a custom car. I would tend to start by mounting the fuse block and work out from there.

A legible copy of the factory wiring schematic would be helpful especially when it comes to tying in the auto trans neutral start switch circuitry and the stock instruments if you plan to keep them. These kits are nice, but they're universal and thus the instructions can't address every single wrinkle that will pop up when installing it into your obsolete orphan.

Yep have the schematic in my service manual...is it best to run the tail lights and fuel system wires just down the top frame?

You could, but they'd be more protected by fishing them through the inside of the frame with a fish tape as the factory did.

Ok..I'll give that a shot thanks...trying to decide now if I should mount the fuse box in the same spot under the dash (new one is a lot bigger) or mount it back on the firewall...

A little tip for fishing the wires...there are small access holes in the frame every couple of feet. Rather than trying to make the entire run in one pull, it might work better to fish them through in small increments. It will be tedious and time consuming, but the end result will be cleaner and more protected than leaving them outside the frame.
