henness pass - mild off-road trip - Friday
Glenn sundstrom, usfs archeologist and resource officer, will lead us from camptonville to galloway ridge. Glenn will take us to a few towns and a nationally registered historic preserve, forest city, CA. They have a working town hall and dance hall, full time residents live there, and there is a functional museum for us to tour. They have some walking/driving tours, so we'll have a good tour guide.

From there we go to galloway ridge, the site of the historic galloway ranch. A great place for lunch. Some great views, we should see sierra valley as well, one of the most photographed valleys in nor cal.

Once we're done on the galloway ranch, it’s off to downieville. Shop and tire kick, great little museums and historic displays, good food here. Decent brakes a must for this part! Down to 49 and back to lake francis.

game night at the yurt - Saturday night
• new this year ... an after hours get-together in the yurt following Saturday’s bbq dinner . there will be poker and board games, wheeling videos, story telling, munchies, etc .
• [/color ] the yurt is located in the middle of the campgrounds; top of the hill; next to the showers .
• [/color ] we have 3-4 round tables for poker - cards and chips supplied .
• videos of top truck, ultimate adventures, etc, will be playing on the tv .
• [/color ] chips n salsa and a few hot & cold munchies will be served . byod .

a little rallye trivia
• vehicle registration has grown from 35 trucks our first year to 75 registered in our 3rd year
• trail runs on Friday are very well attended, over 30 rigs on runs in 2009
• Demand for dinner reservation tickets increased to 80 plus
• lake francis resort operates a summer camp for foster kids in northern California
• the rallye has contributed over $23,000.00 in dining, resort, and camping fees to lake francis resort

• Where do I send my registration? - Mike hill 786 fisher dr. Auburn, CA 95603

• If I register one truck, do I need to register my other truck? - No. One paid registration covers your personal trucks. Example: one IH tows another IH…or…both you and your better half each bring a truck.

• How do I make camping reservations? - Via lake francis resort's website Lake francis resort or calling 1-888-993-7344. Tent to full hook-up available.

• Will I be able to get a dinner ticket after the closing date? - Email for availability. sierrafallrallye@aol.com

• are there activities for the kids? - Yes. The annual coloring contest. Play ground equipment. Lake francis resort will provide balls for basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, ping pong, etc. Bring the bicycles to ride on the athletic field and open trails away from the show-n-shine area. There is a bike path looping lake francis. All day Saturday, and into the evening, a variety of board games will be available. All the kids will receive a rallye souvenir.

• I have a lot of old IH parts laying around. How and where can I sell them? - At the online rallye swap meet. Strike a deal online – make the exchange at the show. You can always bring parts with you Rallye swap meet thread

• I have an item I would like to donate to the raffle and a collectable for the auction. Where do I send it? - Mike hill 786 fisher dr. Auburn, CA 95603. You are now a stagecoach sponsor

• I have an International Harvester refrigerator. Should I bring it? - yes, and it would even have its own show class – “other IH”. All IH manufactured items are welcomed and are encouraged to be displayed.

• Do I need to sign up for Friday’s street, trail or fordyce runs - not really…just show up before departure times. If you would make a note on the registration sheet, that would be helpful

• Where will the fordyce base camp be? - The cisco grove campsite. The group leaves early Friday morning and returns to lake francis Friday evening.

• I have an IH vehicle for sale. Is it possible to submit a flyer to be included with the event grab bag. – yes. Mail 110 copies to Mike

• are dogs allowed on the lfr grounds? - Yes, must be on leash

• I will not be able to attend this year’s show. Can I still get this year’s event t-shirt? -yes, add $6.00 [usps] To the total cost of the shirts. Send your check to Mike. Guaranteed sale if ordered before the registration closing date of sept 16

• I would like to get one of last years t-shirts. Where do I get one? - ihon sells past years items online and they will be available at the rallye store

• If I want to become a rallye sponsor or volunteer, who do I contact for details? - sierrafallrallye@aol.com

•will the young boy scouts be cooking our Sunday breakfast? no. Their fathers will be manning the grills and the scouts will do prep, service and cleanup.

Jeff has invited everyone to his new ihon Grass Valley facility for an after party/open house following the rallye on Sunday and Monday. If it’s anything like last year, there will be quite a caravan leaving lake francis this year for Grass Valley. The parts rooms will be open if needed. Some May even schedule an appointment to leave behind their truck for servicing – since it’s already in the neighborhood.

Come to think of it, this has kinda become a tradition…the after party.

we are going to auction off a few selected items from offroad racing legend sherman balch’s private IH memorabilia collection. All items will be autographed by sherman. Proceeds will go to the extollo foundation in their efforts to rebuild an orphanage in haiti.

back in 1977 sherman took score’s top honors by winning the off-road “world championship” in his sii. In 1978 he won the baja 1000, the mint 400 and 3 other east coast events. In 1982 he and his co-driver won the baja 250, baja 500, baja 1000, the mint 400 and the parker az 400.

just tightened up the henness pass information. We are leaving from lake francis at 8:30-8:45 and staging at the north yuba river ranger station, hwy 49 and marysville road at 9:00-9:15. We will go from there to camptonville, forest city, turn left at galloway ridge road, then to downieville. Should be in downieville about 1:30-2:00. Galloway ridge road has some spots with a 20% grade!!! Good brakes a must.
