2010 Mud Drag Events

I have a partial list of mud drag events for 2010. Since the IHSTO May have more than one IH entered in a few of the 2010 events I figured I should get the word out. Moderator please sticky this.

Coos bay mud drags: Saturday, May 8
sheridan mud drags: Saturday, June 12
willamina mud drags: Saturday, June 26
lincoln county fair mud drags: Sunday, July 18
newport mud drags: Saturday, August 28
coos bay mud drags: Saturday, September 11
coos bay mud drags: Saturday, October 9
astoria mud bogs: Friday and Saturday, October 8 and 9

due to multiple summer events, activities, and budget, maranda and her pink Scout will probably only run at sheridan, willamina, and newport this year.

Rumor has it there May be another IH mud drag rig for 2010. :yikes:

At the last IHSTO meeting a few of you expressed some interest in participating in the mud drag events this year. Here is a link to the tech sheet that most tracks use. Good luck and pm me if you have any questions.

Applications for the willamina mud drags are now available. If you plan on racing don't wait to long to put your application in the mail, there is a 110 vehicle limit.

Monte has finagled IHSTO a booth space at the willamina mud drags on June 26. The purpose of the booth is to pimp the Binder Bee and IHSTO. This space is being provided gratis by the event organizers.

I need three IHSTO volunteers who can work in the booth from 8am>3pm on June 26. We will provide an access pass to the grounds to those individuals so they will not incur any out-of-pocket expense.

I will set the booth up on Friday the 25th, all the volunteers need to do is show up with a chair on Saturday (pass in hand)! We'll distribute information regarding IHSTO and also hand out bee flyers. This is a very well attended event and gives us an opportunity to expose IHSTO to several thousand folks.

Combined with the sheridan days event/parade, and other events ken, monte, and Mike have set up for us just prior to the bee, this is an excellent opportunity to get the word out about our junkiron world right in the heart of our market!

Big day at willamina for the IHSTO krew!!!

Maranda trophied with no upside down events!

Becky trophied too!

Mikee definitely had a learning experience with a new ride and did great but simply got hiz azz beat in the finals (manual transmissions suk at the mud drag)!

And kristen made her debut in the dragon so we gotta nuther muddragger in the krew!

Wes and cuzzin helped out in the IHSTO booth and we talked to a bunch of folks who will hopefully show up at the bee.

All in all, a very successful weekend with hardly nuthin' broke at all! Great crowd, great weather, and monte's hawgeque was first class as always...30lbs. Of perfect hawgloin!!!
 
If you don't plan on making the Binder Bee trail run this Sunday, July 18, then consider the lincoln county mud drags. See you there. :icon_up:

This is the only video I have at the moment from this weekend's mud drag event.

I must give some history about this race... I convinced maranda to move up a class this weekend, I wanted her to run against some of these trucks because some venues we haven't raced at yet will tech her into this class because of her motor swap. (a 440 is not a IH motor, so you get stuck in modified class.)

anyway, to make a long story short maranda's sister took first place in the class we normally race in. So when the event was over we convinced the track officials to let us have a best 2 out of 3 grudge match to prove once and for all which sister was the best. Maranda won the grudge match. :yesnod:

So maranda made a last minute decision and we will be racing at the washington county fair mud drags. We have never run in one of the wgas events before, the rules are different and we May be racing in a open class because of our modifications. Wish us luck.
