2008 Sierra Fall Rallye

I'm planing on rolling into dobbins on Thursday. I would really like to run some or all of fordyce on Friday. Is there anybody that is interested in doing so also? I hate the thought of driving 9 hrs and being so close but not running that trail.....

What will the trail you are planning on be like then? Is it fordyce"esque" or easier? Just trying to decide if I wanna roll by myself and wheel, or bring the fam in the other car.

See post #12 for info in regards to the trail. I haven't personally run it so I don't know anything about it. Maybe someone in our group(Craig??) would be willing to run a couple of you guys out to fordyce but plan on it being an all day trail ride.

Looking at post 12, the trail Mike mapped out is very close.

Fordyce is one tough trail, with 5 winch hills, several water crossing. .

I'm game to give it a try if I can find a leader. I'd like the challange. I hate to pull the other trail ride apart though. What about running part of it? Is that possible?

Sorry I have to miss it (again) due to work.
It's a tough date, as last year and this year, it is on my dept's (I'm a full-time fireman) annual open house Saturday, and all-hands are expected to be on duty for the day.

I will be pulling out around 7:30 or 8:00am Thursday morning. Still havent figured out if we are going to camp at cisco grove and tag along in with someone running fordyce on Friday or if we will come straight to lake francis. Only thing for sure is that we are coming....

Im interested in running fordyce once more this season, but it doesnt sound like many are planning the trip. Maybe you dont want a Ford with you? Anyway, if you guys are going, I might like to tag along.

I don't mind a Ford along as long as you stay downwind.:dita: no seriously if you have ran it before and can lead the way I think we would like to hit it. Where should we meet? Why don't you pm me a contact # and a good time to call and I can give you a call on the way down.

Plan is to roll at 6ayem...or 3 hours after, whichever comes last. We'll be at dobbin's 10ish on Friday.

ive run it a bunch before, just trying to figure out what my time frame is. What time can you all be there?

If things go well today we will be camping at cisco grove campground tonight. Can you find us there? Or is there a place to meet?

The campground is a good place to meet. Much better plan to start from there, vs drive from dobbins. Fwiw I can get to cisco grove faster than dobbins from my house. My plan is still to head up to dobbins either afterwork tonight, or early Friday morning. The good news is there is cell phone service on most of the trail. I pm'ed you my cell number just in case you need it.

P.s. Hope you packed an extra sleeping bag or two in case you break down and have to spend the night
