Here's an article I got out of a magazine published in August 1988. It came from four wheeler magazine. I thought some of you might find it interesting.

Thanks ron. Made for an interesting albeit not completely accurate read. I probably read this article when it was fresh (although I don't remember it) as that would have been my first year of high school. I spent a good deal of time in the library thumbing through all the 4by and muscle car rags. Even back then I remember wondering why there weren't more scouts featured. That was well before I knew I was going to be a binder bubba, but my Dad had owned a '72 sii when I was a tadpole and I'd always thought they were cool. Since then I've recognized the illness was there all along, but it was merely existing in a dormant stage waiting to strike. I didn't have a chance.

I hear ya scoutboy, I remember riding my bike to the IH dealership and looking at scouts sitting on the lot. Man who knew what would happen when we finally got one so many years later. If I remember right list price for a new early 70's Scout was like $7,000
yes I am that old!! :)
glad you liked the article.
Ron

Since you boyz like to read "old" stuff about junkiron...try this one:

a "brooklands books" publication outta limeyland. "International Scout gold portfolio 1961-1980". Isbn# 1855203057.

International

I found mine at the local barnes and noble outlet, don't know why they'd stock that title! This is eugene...treehugger capital of the known free world, where berkeley treesitters are trained for deployment. Pricey at $32.95.

It's compilation of all known published road tests of the Scout platforms since inception. I remember when all these articles were published in their respective print rags back in the day!

Most of the stuff is hilarious when ya "know" what we know about this junkiron. And of course the "road tests" were written to pimp for advertising for the publication, not much "objectivity" there but a fun read and there are many photos I've never seen in any other IH-related reference.

Much of the stuff will go hand-in-hand with those "videos" ya got trev! Get the fwb team together and have a "training session" and then drag out this book to pass around just before yawl pass out from too much beer and hilarity!

Mike, I do need tuh get me a copy uh that'n and the crismon binder bible also. Got uh big-azz lower shelf on my coffee table which wud uhkomeedayt 'em plus a comprehensive book on gto's and a comprehensive book on f-series peekups. Them'd make fer my-t-fyne java table fodder.
I like yer idear of the video party. I wundur how many uh them jewels we'd be able tuh git thru in one sitting? It wud take a lot uh sud-suckin', I kno that much.
