1973 1210 345 V8 Speedometer Cable & Vented Gas Cap

I need a new speedometer cable, is there an easy way to find the length besides jerking it all out? Also, I am putting in a new drivers side polypropylene gas tank, where can I get a vented gas cap that would fit?

Welcome to the forum. Can't help with the gas cap question. I went to Stant's website and they didn't have any listings. You could use a seamstress tape measure for a close measurement of the speedo cable. Close might not be good enough though.

If it's is the drivers fuel tank, you can use a Scout II style cap that's vented: https://www.ihpartsamerica.com/store/SII-GASCAP-L.html

As for the speedometer cable it's easier to pull it out and measure it and get the right length the first time.
