I bought a scout about 2 years ago and it needs a complete rebuild I got the motor running when I first got it but it needs everything. Where do I start and how can i make it cheaper than $6,000. I am thinking I will leave most of the body the way it is rough. I also have complete access to a steel shop. So any help will be great, this is my first rebuild. :cornut:

That's a really broad question. It might help you to break the rig down into the major systems, ie drive train, running gear, electrical, brakes, steering/suspension, body/trim. Triage each system or group separately and then attack one system at a time. Vehicle control is obviously a top priority. It needs to steer well and stop well. By "well", I mean at least as good as it did when it was new. So, for 1969 standards, we're not talking about awesome or excellent steering and stopping, just adequate or slightly above.
