1964. Stock 152 troubleshooting

Hey everyone just picked up a 64 with the 152 in it and I drove it for a few days and now it does not seem to want to stay running. It turns over and then sputters out. I have check the basics and it seems to be getting spark, fuel, air...I have checked the fuel pump before and after the filter. It just seems off that it went from starting and running fine to not wanting to stay running. Anybody have anything I may be missing? I have since swapped the plugs and still no luck. Also I was considering swapping with a 350. Would it be worth it to rebuild the stock 152 or just upgrade to a 350 the 350 seems to be an easier swap from what I have seen people doing. Thanks in advance for any information.

Sounds like it might be a carb issue on the 152.

There is a lot more involved in a SBC swap than just the engine. You need to weld, you need to swap transfer cases and transmissions, you need custom drive shafts made and probably axle upgrades to handle the power.

That was my thought at first it's an aftermarket carb but it seems to be getting fuel to it and without taking it completely apart I can't tell further. ya figured doing the motor mounts and driveshaft would be a bigger part...there is a guy who is selling the engine and 5 speed xmsn as one so that I think would make it easier minus any axle upgrade

I usually ask for some good under hood pictures in cases like this because we just don't know what's right and what's been monkey-fooked with...not necessarily by you, but maybe by a previous owner (PO). It really helps to know what fuel delivery and spark making components are in play. New owners don't always know how to make positive ID of that stuff. So pictures please.
