Hello everyone, there is alot of great info on this forum. My father and I have gathered 5 Scout 80's and we are looking to build 3 good ones out of them. The first is a 1962 Scout 80, id number fc52247, all stock and original. We got it last year, got it home replaced the clutch slave cylinder and fixed the brakes, threw a battery in it and it started up and we drove it around the property for a few weeks. Winter came and it sat, this summer we tried to start it with a fresh battery and it turns over but no fire. The engine compartment was moldy from the rain over the winter. I replaced battery, points, condenser, rotor, dist cap, coil and ballast resistor, nothing seemed to change. The wiring is pretty messed up as they removed the generator and replaced it with an alternator, but it was running before it sat. We figured it had to do with water getting into some part of the ignition system, but we have replaced almost everything. It appears we are getting no spark from the coil, so we have another new coil to try, but other ideas would help, thanks.
