In replacing a,152 with a 196. In a 65, 80 series,
is the clocked part of the bolt pattern on the engine block, or just the bell housing? Do they both use the same engine / frame mounts???
Tks

I covered this in my first reply to your other thread about the same topic. The engine is clocked. The 80/800 engine mounts are the same.

I did this swap a few years back , I don't know for how "clocked" my engine is , but it is the improved cooling version and I was told it was out of a Scout 2 , anyways it slipped right in. Mine is also a 1965 , as I recall , the only change was not using the mechanical fuel pump because of the 152 motor mounts , good luck

I did this exact swap in a 62 80. Only real issue I had was the exhaust pipes. Due to the taller deck of the 196, the original exhaust plumbing was too short. Other than that it was a direct fit. If I remember correctly, the 196 came out of a 68/69 800, but I would have to double check.
