wiper motor help 62 c110

Need some help with a wiper motor on 62 pickup. Wipers were working. Removed motor from firewall to paint. Didn't disconnect harness, just moved it down to the engine and set it there. Put it all back together and now it is not working. There are 3 wires going to the motor, checking voltage, the most I see is 10 volts, with the wiper switch on.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The motor probably grounds through the housing. Could the new paint be interfering with the ground? Are the terminals on both ends of your gang plug clean?

The terminals on the main harness plug are clean. The wiper harness runs from the motor directly to the switch.

I don't have a definitive answer for your but I will add some insight into my problem. My 67 loadstar wiper motor and switch went kabput. I found a wiper in a local junkyard for 150.00 that was bench tested and okay by their standards. I installed it and it worked fine. So far.

Upshot is that I took my old one and sent it to d&m in south carolina to have it rebuilt so I would have a new one. They said it was missing an interior nubbin and I would be better off finding another used one, send it to them and they would make it right. I found another one online for sixty bucks shipped to them. They went through both, made me one new one and the other one is rebuilt except for the missing part. They treated me real nice and I am just glad to have one new one on the shelf if I ever need it.

They also went through my switch. Piece of mind that I won't ever have to go searching for used crap anymore.

Any idea on what the cost was for the rebuild?

I paid two hundred seventy five dollars and then another 37.00 for them to ship the whole shebang back to me on the west coast.

This is in addition to my shipping two motors to them. Wasn't cheap but I am not complaining at all. Rnr of these motors is a pain in the butttttt and you can burn up a lot of time and fuel looking around junkyard for some thing that "should work fine".

I hope this helps. They get my recommendation. I really searched a lot. There are lots of rebuilders, but they are picky, only british, or only 'vette, or only Ford,... I suspect if you wanted to camp out in some sixties junkyard you might find some other vehicle brand that used the same essential unit. Have at it;-)

you might as well get in touch with them and get a quote.
