I'm going to try to do a better job of documenting my build. I recently posted how I finally got a chance to work on the Scout since getting back, but I didn't put any updates yet.
First, I couldn't get the original carb (2210) to idle and run smooth and after reading loads of your guys' comments on 2300 recommendations, I bought one. I was a bit afraid of the source....it was ebay. However, I took the risk for $200 and it turned out fine. I can crank her every time now.
Next......the lights and brakes. But first, order a manual from IH Parts America (thank you
)
manual received now on to the next problem....
Lights:
I worked on the lights for three hours the other night. The time flies when I'm working on the Scout. Luckily, the wife has been doing her homework, so she hasn't minded.....yet. Anyway, the po put a trailer harness in line with the original harness. He removed the left rear tail/park light connector. I ripped all of the trailer harness out an attempted to rewire the rear lights. I now have all running lights, head lights, and partial brake lights. The rear left one is still not working. The tail light works, but not the brake light. I haven't checked the reverse lights yet, but that will come. I noticed the light switch on the dash is a bit flaky. I have to wiggle a bit to get the running lights and dash lights to come on.
Brakes:
okay, I bled the brakes and no luck....the brake pedal does not want to return. It will stop, but it ain't safe. So, back to the forum. I found a entry that stated to verify the booster is getting the proper vacuum. Will do that soon.
Break break (more to come)
