I LIKE!!!

Nice Scout, terrible music.:mad2: personally I'd rather build my own than pay the big $$$. But it looks like a top quality job.

Oh, I'm still going to build my 72 & 74 but, this would get me back where I need to be. Something I can pull a trailer with, drive to work in, play in and look good doing it, lol. I need all the help I can get in the look good department! :icon_lol: would love to drive up to some of the classic car shows in this rig!

Is it my imagination or have Scout prices really skyrocketed lately. There are a couple on cl locally for $10k and $15k. The $10k unit is listed as being restored, but I think that translates in po speak to moderately ok paint job recently.
The $15k unit has big tires, lift, lots of shiny stuff and a list of 'improvements' a page long.

A 76 terra registered as a diesel but with a swapped in sv of some sort sitting in a field with flat tires and visible rust through over the front & rear tires was listed for $4200.

I paid $1100 for my 78 terra. Drove it 168 miles home and it passed smog. Guess I better hang on to it.

Yeah man, around here, there's a lot of scouts and ihs in general finding their way to the crushers. I could fill up a few acres if I was able to camp the scrap metal yards and had the cash. Sad thing is, folks have no clue they can get a lot more for them parting them out but I guess that quick $500 is too appealing.

My poor ears from the bad rap. Only decent sounding thing in the video is the 8 slugs purring. Sweet ride though. Although, I didn't care much how one of the tubes of the header was wrapped around the out side of the frame. What's up with dat? And it's wrapped like a band aid.

I'm actually kind of looking for a 4x4 Travelall. Be a cool tow rig and camping hauler

Ive seen that a few times now. Ugly as mud. But functional.

I want a 4x4 loadstar...hey doc. Buy me a loadie with 4x4

May not matter to doc in ms, but that thing would take a lot of time and $$ to pass smog here in kalifornia!!

Agree on the price.....would rather build my own.

If scouts are your life docbon, then you need to move to northern cali. They're all over here. I got mine for a steal. Just make sure it's old enough to bypass the smog laws.

I used to live in the bay area. Sf for a spell then redwood city. Not sure my family would let me leave home and I'm probably too much redneck for a lot of folks out there by now, lol. Bought my first car in CA. 1974 dodge dart swinger for $1k. Was a one owner and cherry. Can't touch one that runs for less than $5k now.:icon_scream:

Yeah, smog laws don't apply here. We have guys getting tickets for running open headers here but, it's for the noise, not the smog.

Doc, my neck still burns red, but I guess I've been gone from ms for too long because most people can't tell I'm from there. I've noticed there are many places here in norcal much like southern ms. Not sure about the "southern hospitality" here, but there are plenty of helpful people on these forums and that's good enough for me.

My Scout actually makes me feel a little at home. My Dad had a 76 and I remember driving that thing all over southern ms.

You can take the boy out of the south but ya can't take the south out of the boy! Guess that's why I ended up back here. My friends out there are always trying to get me to move back but, my roots are too deep now. If I did move again, it would probably be some where in between but, with my Dad in fl, I don't see it happening.

Just a little farther up north in mendocino the necks are quite red.
