Can I mate a d-30 inner right front( pass side ) to a d-44 outer stub shaft ? Thx-Jeff

On a Scout II no.
On earlier models (all brands not just IH, both Dana 30 and Dana 44) stuff ran 260x ujoints which have a smaller cap diameter. At some point you could get a Jeep Dana 30 with 760x ujoints...

Are sure chris? Although IH had all sorts of combinations all I have seen in a Scout II Dana 30(disc or drum) has been 260 ujoints. The sii 44 as chris pointed out is definitely a 297 or 760 which is a bigger ujoint.

You are correct. I was thinking about the rest of the parts and the stub shaft itself being the same size.... Doh!!!

They are not the same. As I stated each used a different size ujoint.

Thanks, Jeff. But will the axles interchange,even though they have different u-joint's ? Can you use a drum brake axle shaft in a disc brake axle ? Tia !
A d30 axle whether it is from a disc brake or drum brake axle will not work in a d44. And d44 axles whether from a disc or drum brake axle will not work in a d30.
