That's right. Its that time of the year again. The annual tree and play in the snow run! December 13th 8:30 am
we meet at the safeway parking lot in molalla. Its at the intersection of hwy 213 and 211. From there its a short jaunt up into the cascade foothills for some trees, campfire, and general good times.

Get your tree permit from any ranger station or forest service office.

This is a stock rig run. No fear of damage or breakage. Although, I can't claim responsibility if it does occur  there will be the opportunity for the big rigs to play in the deep stuff as well.

As always, please come prepared. Spare tires, fluids, tow strap, functioning 4x4, etc...

Hope to see you there!

I am so there - as always, driving the living orange flare :winky:

I haven't had the Scout off road since August - looking forward to it!

my truck is ready, I am 100% in.

Computer rewired, new computer, loose wheel bearing fixed, heater fixed.

Cool! I got my lexan back window cut out. Picked up the adhesive to glue it in. Dismounting the tires this weekend to install beadlocks. Got material for my winch mount. 60 ft of amsteel 5/16 blue line is on its way too. Its nice to know people that know people that rob people. All the mods listed above, I'm into it about $20. Not counting what I payed for the winch 3 years ago.

My transmission has been popping out of 3rd gear lately and got to the point that I would have to drive w/ as little acceleration as possible and it would go into neutral at least 10 times on the 20 mile trip from alsea to corvallis. But, it seems to have either gotten so bad that I can hold it in place now or it is getting better! if it holds up I will be joining the fun (I'm praying to the tranny gods right now!) once the trip is over, then the 4spd will get put in along w/ my open:dita: Dana 44's SOA w/ my 33's. Might put some 35's on if I'm so inclined, as my friend needs to get rid of his for cheap! But idk if they'll fit or not! Might need to put another leaf in the spring pack along w/ some longer shackles!:winky:

I am probably not going to make it -- with as little snow as there might be - my truck is a little overkill (also read as a pain in the ass to drive around on gravel roads...).

I also had another event come up that I really can't miss (no I am not seeing another truck club on the side...).

And I won a sweet noble fir at the Christmas party!!! So I already have my tree.

Have a great time!!!

Idk chris here is the weather report! Heavy snow is in the forecast!:winky: looks like it'll be fun! Gonna fight my trans the whole way now! Better top of the fluids and get er ready! Might put on the 32's w/ 90% tread to really throw the white stuff. See ya'll there.

As fun as it might be, if the weather is too bad, I'm gonna cancell the run. I'll be towing my rig as will terryd(if they decide to come) several people will be coming from a ways out. I dont want anybody to endanger themselvs just to get out there. Also, the best trees are way up there. If it snows that low, there wont be too many good trees to get. We'll just have to play it by ear.

Looks like we're gonna pass as well. The dust bowl option doesn't sound like much fun, and the prospect of trailering home in the snow doesn't sound like much fun either.

If you cancel it you'll need to post up rather early, as I'll be leaving early. 5-6 am is preferable. Might just go and hit up mary's peak if the run is canceled. If anyone around corvallis want's to join, then post up. Always gotta have a plan b!:winky:

My oldest son is getting married on the 14th. Guess who is doing all the last minute stuff on the 13th? Now the wife says no tree till after the wedding. My IH orniments are'nt in yet so we're safe for now.

Would anybody be heart broken if I cancelled it now? Looks like turnout was gonna be minimal anyway. I'll still get my tree but I'll prolly take my dodge up to my old mans :)

I'd be heartbroken, but I'd get over it! I can just take the kiddos up to the tsf. Besides, it might've just been you & me, and I already have a tree. I'm just lookin' to play in the snow.

Your call dan - I'm good either way.
