1980 Scout II. Converting from Auto to Stick.

If you need technical assistance, first try a forum search to see if your topic has been dealt with previously. If that doesn't bear sufficient fruit, a question posted under the appropriate technical subheading will generally garner helpful responses. This section is for placing classified ads to sell used parts. There is a separate section for placing parts wanted ads.

Actually - this thread should be in the "wanted" section.

That is if reading it correctly. That he's going from auto to manual transmission. And he is in need of the clutch/brake pedal assembly - and I have a spare one here on the shelf that I don't need. I went the opposite direction. I pulled it out of my 72. If you are looking for these parts for an '80, they should fit. But I could be wrong. Don't think I still have the linkage though. If I do it May not be complete, sorry

Patience my friend. I only mentioned the "wanted goods" section only because this is the "parts for sale" section. This post could have been moved to apropriate section.

I haven't thought of price. If you could give me a few days I can dig through my spare parts bins to see what I have of the linkage.

Also, it might be a bit helpfull if more info was provided. Like engine size you're using and which manual transmission you plan on using.

The parts that I have came off my 72 Scout that had the 304 and 3 speed manual trans - not sure of what that model number is. Depending on what transmission you plan on using, the linkage I have, if I can find it, May not will work.

For additional parts, you are more than welcome to call IH Parts America. There is also a link to the online store at the top of each page. The kind owners provide these forums for us IH enthusiast's

I understood the op's original intent well enough. It was a solicitation for technical advice as much as it was for parts. Nothing wrong with that except the location is a bit out of place. It can be fixed if it needs fixing. My response offered clear and appropriate suggestions as to how he could proceed based on what he was trying to accomplish without the need for me to read his mind or draw a red slash through his post and move it elsewhere.

Well my plan is to put all Chevy drivetrain it. I am looking for some Scout linkage parts so I can make the Chevy stuff work. I took out a 345ci w/ 727-Dana 20. The truck is an original diesel. The last owner tossed out engine and trans. Let me know what you got and what you think I need. Any info is appreciated.

I thought this was the "wanted goods" section, my bad.:icon_neutral:

No worries bud. I totally understood what you were saying from the get go. We were on the same page. Topic is a bit two fold.

Cool deal. That paints a better picture of what you have going on. For now, I do know that I have the clutch and brake pedal assembly. It's a double pedal assembly unit, that will need to be swapped into place of the single brake pedal. I'm not sure if I still have the linkage for the clutch left. I will need to search through my spare parts bins. It will be a few days before I know for sure. Full time job does get in the way of my hobbies - dammit.
Cheers
