Binder Bee Trail Run Report!

Well another successful bee trail run in the books, we had a huge turn out with a few new faces. Didn’t quite get all the way through the planed course for the day but with the breakage we had we still did really good.

We started off with university firepower which is a moderate trail that is normally closed during the rainy months because of erosion, but a real fun climb when its open. Then I took the stockers around the first section of firebreak five where jon stafford decided to liven things up a bit and rip a front shackle mount right off the frame!! Luckily ken (who has literally every tool you could ever need on his Scout) had a welder and his passenger (sorry, forgot his name) was a professional welder. A few sparks flew and we were back on the trail where we went to the "rock garden" section of firebreak five. After a few rigs went through that we headed down the road towards cedar tree to end our day, but a broken clutch linkage, propane delivery problems and the fact that I was leaking 2 different fluids from 3 different places, caused the bulk of us to head for the trailers.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out, hopefully you all had a good time. I wasn’t able to get any pics but I know drew was snapping a bunch!

Great time as always and now I have fresh strong front shacke mount as a result. I am gonna call IH and see if I can get the other 3 warrantied. The rest of us ran hogs back and a couple other trails which, like dboy said, all seemed a little more difficult then the signs said. I agree that there has been a lot of erosion this year making the rocks more pronounced and the ruts much deaper. Anyway we all made it just fine but had some trouble finding our way back to browns camp. This place is impossible to navigate! I am glad I was not leading. =) we finally got back to the hwy around 630 covered in an inch or more of dust. It was a fantastic day! Now I have to go the store and buy some steel and make my spring hangers just a little heavier.

Thanks for a great time and thanks everyone for jumping into action to help me. I have wheeled with lots of differant clubs over the years from north cali, to tahoe, to oregon, and this one is special because there are no egos getting in the way. Everyone does whatever it takes to help people out. No matter how big the problem you are never left behind. Thanks friends =) cant wait for next time!!

It was a fun run. Lots of rigs made for a slow run and we weren't able to cover much ground. But I think everyone had a good time.
I had an interesting day wheeling my new buggy. I have some changes to make before I take it out again. It needs the ihcs touch..

I had a great time Sunday. It was great to meet everyone.

I'd heard of the car battery welding before, but seeing that bead was damn impressive. It was cool to see some good wheeling.

For a little bit there we didn't get far between breakdowns, but it was cool to see that each one got handled in stride and nobody got left behind.

I think I've still got dirt in my eyes from the trip back to the parking lot, but I wouldn't want it any other way...

I guess I need to find a Scout and make sure I'm back next year.

I noticed how good the communications were between the trail boss and the sweep crew. Crystal clear communications were a good part of the reason the group stayed together and nobody got left behind...

All it takes is for someone somewhere in the line to not check his/her mirrors for a minuet and all of a sudden weve got miles between us.

Ken parker is the lone northerner who made it down for the mcgrew last month. He's getting a lot of experience with that trail grinder and welder setup. Pretty dam handy to have around. Wish I could have hung around for that.

Now I see why Sunday at the bee was so lightly attended,...everyone was on the trail ride! Just the right number of vehicles to be manageable.

That is a great turnout and so glad to see some of the "street" folks finally got their rigs into the woods! And I know the kidz had a blast, what a full weekend for all!

Great job on the bee trailride daniel, jen, and Mike!!! This one sets a new standard!
