ned some help confirming a decision. m current 2 bbl holley is crapping out, a rebuild kit is wayyyyyyyyyy over priced over 120.00 bucks. so i can buy a new 2bbls off amaon for 80. or i can pull my 4 bbl sqauare bore intake and put this one one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BR7MYJ53/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3TZ1JDR687ILM&psc=1 either way i go i have to replace the coolant temp sensor, the 4bbl intake needs new freeze plugs and a cleaning,(been sitting in a shed over a few years) so what would you do?

it wont stay running have a fuel pump runs for about 4-5 seconds, acts like it isnt getting fuel. pulled it apart to do a poor mans rebuild and it did nothing same result. what carb would you recomend?

anything cheaper that will do the trick? i dont have that in my budget right now :(
where do you live ? phoenix AZ ? thats a big car town
have you checked if there are any local car swap meets ? or craigslist? or even any hoarders around that horde cars.
swap meets are great to find used carbs, most classic car guys have the fuel injection bug and are looking to get reid of their carbs.

alreight update/ close off/ advice.
got a rebuilt carb from offline, jumps right off first hit of the key, runs great, wide open( gotta get the vac leaks fixed) got a new aftermarket temp gague but i cant get it to fit in the hole were the oem sensor went, is there a different place to put it?

is it larger

is it larger or smaller ? then the OEM

where the OEM is mounted is the most accurate place to rear temp. at that spot it is reading the water temp after fulling going through the engine.
can you find an adapter that would let you mount it there ?
