Ok I've looked at the schematics that were posted on the sticky , but I'm looking for something more detailed and in a book . Technology is great but I find it difficult to follow while looking at my phone . And I'm pretty frustrated with the fact that my Scout doesn't start every time . I know there is a short , I know that there are some aftermarket switches instlled in the interior as well , no clue where they go . It's a 75 Scout II with a 345 ( I was told ) California car . If anyone knows of a solid booklet with detailed wiring diagrams tht would be awesome

No need to view wiring diagrams on the phone....?
I print them out on my printer, or if I want a larger print, I take the electronic file on a thumb drive to kinkos and get a large print. 11" x 17" for example......or larger if you wish.....
You can email your data to them and they will print it and you can pick it up later.
Print out the wiring diagrams for your vehicle, put them in a binder, now you have a book!
Let technology work for you, not against you.
IH circuit diagrams (wiring diagrams) are in the service manual, electrical section.

when I started working on my old ihc pickup, I purchased the parts manual and service manuals. Although they appear to be expensive, money well spent in the long run. I think you will find what you are looking for in the parts manual. I reference my parts manual a lot more than the service manuals. (my service manual consists of 2 - 3" thick 3-ring binders)
check with IHPA first for sourcing, (I don't find them on their web-site), binderbooks is one source. There are others.
Since I am not a Scout owner, I May be wrong, but I am sure other Scout owners will soon join in to give you some help.

The parts manual is my goto source for how the parts assemble / fit together. The service manual describes repair processes, yet is lacking in diagrams it describes.
Someone on these forums once said of the service manuals that an assumption is made by ihc that the user, I.e. Mechanic, has a basic knowledge of processes. Thus the lack of pictures / diagrams.
I do not have my parts manual handy with me, but I strongly believe that my wiring diagrams are shown in it, not the service manuals.

Most of the manuals are still copyrighted, protecting the publisher's rights to make a profit on them. Of which I have no disagreement to. I am just glad to have access to their purchase.
Back before the www, (late 1980's) I had to rely on a navistar dealer for parts. Luckily, the dealer had a parts guy who tried to help me find them. Many parts like molded rubber fuel hoses were non-existent. I am so glad we have parts dealers like IHPA. Without the parts book and service manuals, I am in the dark on how to service my old pickup.

The information and wiring diagrams contained within the factory service manuals were never intended for consumption by the general public. They were expressly intended to be used by trained ihc techs. Ihc had no way of foreseeing all these decades in the future that there would be a cult following for these rust piles and that Joe-Bob shadetrees across the country would be trying to keep them on the road. Be that as it May, they are still an invaluable resource for anyone with the patience and persistence to take the time to get familiar with them. We would all be in some seriously deep doo-doo without them. Now, the parts manuals, do not have wiring diagrams in them, nor do they discuss repair procedures, but they do have many great cutaway diagrams of the various sub-assemblies, which the repair manuals are a bit shy on.

And that would have been an unauthorized version anyway. The printed version that you can buy through the IHPA webstore is the way to go. They aren't the most user-friendly layout in the world, but once you spend some time with it, you'll get the hang of how to navigate your way through it. It just takes a little time.
