Will a T-19 trans from 345 engine fit 304 engine?

Hello
New to the board. About my project: I’ve got a 63 Scout 80 that I’m swapping the engine/drivetrain on to get a little more power. Currently has the 152 i4 but I need something a little more practical.

I’ve got a 304 v8 engine from a 72 that I’m rebuilding. Trying to fit a transmission to it.
I found a t-19 from a 75 Scout II with a 345.

my question is: will this transmission fit my 304? If not, is there something I can do to make it work?

I found a similar thread that seemed to suggest there might be an issue with the flywheel?

Any answers greatly appreciated.

But, when I changed from a T18 to a T19 in my Scout some clearance grinding was needed for the shifter on the D20. I'd suggest you mate everything up before installation.

The first gen Scouts used pancake bell housings for clearance due to the dog house being so cramped. Your bigger issue might be fitting this drive train into the Scout. Gonna take a fair amount of fab work.
