Why am I stalling?

1963 Scout 80, 152, Holley 1904. I've been working on getting my first Scout running properly. Rebuild the carb recently. Idles great. It runs through both first and second gear great as long as I'm on flat ground but when I hit third or go up a steep incline it wants to stall out. Fuel pressure? Bad timing? Anyone else ever had this issue with some advice would be great. I can't wait to get this thing out and on the road.

Have you read through all the information we have posted in this sub-forum regarding the Holley 1904 carb???

If the main well assembly was not drilled out and then meticulously cleaned internally, then you must do that.

Also, the fuel level (float height) must be set properly, using a float that has been verified to not have absorbed liquid (float weight is approximately 12 grams). We also have pictures posted of a float height set correctly.

Correct fuel pressure for all ihc-produced engines is a nominal 5psi.

Once the entire fuel system is verified as being correct, the same must be done for the distributor/ignition system. Before the correct distributor information can be supplied, I must know which distributor is being used, a delco or one of two different Holley units. Information regarding distributor id is in this thread:
