Which tachometer to buy?

I have a 63 Scout 80 with a 345 and a four speed. It has Dana 44 axles front and rear and 35 inch tires. I'm looking to replace the gauges when I do my kwikwire harness install. The po added a separate oil pressure gauge and a ammeter off to the left of the speedo. The only 4 5/8" speedo and tach I have found is from iss pro but the tach only goes to 3500 rpms. Is this okay for this setup or do I have to get a higher rpm tach? Sorry about the long post.

Well the engine is maxxed at 4400 rpm, so I dont think you have a problem w/it. It will go past the 3500 Mark, and you can judge it. I doubt very much that you get it that high anyway's. If so, it be screamin !:icon_gonk:

The other option would be to go to 3 3/8" gauges but id have to make a new faceplate with smaller holes for gauges. More options though. This truck is gonna be driven around town probably never above 50 mph so I should be ok. Thanks for the reply

Unless you plan on maxing out the tach I would suggest looking for one with a 5000 rpm range.

I was looking at the gauges IH parts sells and I think I'm gonna go with the 3 3/8" 6000 tach and the matching speedo. Ill just fabricate a faceplate out of aluminum with the proper size holes for gauges. Thanks for the reply.
