Well guys the last run was mostly a dud. If anybody wants to plan something, do something, meet somewhere please post up.
 
As soon as I can get my 73 beast back up and running, I would be getting a bit more involved. Just might take me another month or two. I keep getting side tracked with other projects, like this mid 90's cadillac that blew a couple freeze plugs that I'm currently working on.

I'm past due for hitting the trails.
 
More trips. I was not able to do this past run.

My Scout is road worthy. So how about hell hole reservoir.
Or bassi falls.
 
Ill be down for a meet when mine is finally done. My issue is I work a lot of weekends.

Why dont you guys head out to the ralleye rubicon and fordyce runs? Ive been leading them the last few years, and Craig and michael(iirc) are the only ones that have made it.
 
Are there any mild 4 wheel drive trails still open? How is hell hole? I've been wanting to do that trail for awhile. Also aren't there some fire roads that lead up to a look-out tower near dutch flats. Probably need to find some trails that stock rigs can go on so we can gather up momentum for the club. Rubicon or fordyce right out of the box might scare potential members away.
 
My social calendar should be calming down some in the near future, so I will do my best to make the next event whatever it is. My Scout is finally drivable, so a mildish trail run would be cool.
 
Has anyone ever been up to the leek springs lookout tower? I think there are a couple of trails up there, plummer ridge and buckskin Joe. The tower is fairly close to mormom emigrant trail and highway 88. Here is a link to plummer ridge . could be a good day trip for stock internationals . maybe we could schedule something for late June since father's day weekend is the 15th-17th.
 
How about June 1st Saturday for a day trip. Seems like the end of June is draggin' it out. Sounds like Matt and Craig know of some good places to go let's just do it.
 
June 1st could work for me. Would need to get a 3" pitman arm from Jeff before then. Jeff can you ream out a 3" pitman arm before then?

Rob, what kind of wheeling are you willing to do? Mild to moderate?

I'm sure we can. Give the guys a call and get the order placed so that the guys can get things rolling.
 
With 31" and a 2" lift works for a lot of mild to moderate trails.

California trails

Another ridge route is squaw ridge which run from lower bear res up near caples lake. Also called pardoe's trail as pardoe's lake is about half way up the trail.

Maybe this weekend I could run one of the 2 and see what the level they really are. A lot of those trails are like gravel roads, but with scenic views.

It would be best to find a lake or creek to stop at and have lunch.
Or be eaten for lunch by mosquitos. Or some place with a view

Signal peak looks like a good start. Plenty of other trails and water are nearby. How many people are interested and can go on June 1st?

Directions: there are two different ways to get to the top of signal peak. The easy way, and the hard way. For the easy way, take the cisco grove exit from highway 80 and go north over the freeway. Turn left on the frontage road and make the first right just before the campground. This trail leads to fordyce reservoir. At about 7 miles from the pavement, look for a trail on the left. This trail leads up to the top where the radio towers and old signal house are. (from ttora site)

could meet in Auburn for coffee, there are a few grocery stores there as well to grab something for lunch.

Looks like we are going the 1st, probably won't get to the begining of the trail until 10:30 or so. After we run up to the peak we will head down to some water for food and relaxing, maybe you can meet us up there.
