WARNING- Do not use "Dependale" Auto Shippers

Hello fellow binders
I feel it my duty to warn those involved with classic cars (or any cars for that matter) not to use das. I recently moved from santa fe, nm to redding, CA and needed one of my eclectic fleet shipped. My '73 International Travelall which I recently converted to throttle body fuel injection from afi (a nightmare) was driven by some friends in nm down from santa fe to the shipping terminal in albuquerque. Since the FI conversion it has had trouble restarting after the engine has been driven to full operating temp. This restarting issue happened when the truck was being checked in at the terminal. The guy at the terminal said he could not accept the vehicle because it was inoperable. I explained to him over the phone from California that if you let the truck cool down for 10 minutes it will start right up again. He said he wouldn't take it, and to get it off his lot because they were closing early. Their website says explicitly that the car should be "running", not anywhere does it state that it has to be in 100% working order (the only detail listed is that the brakes must be fully operable).I asked if he could contact the shipping company and make alternative arrangements as my friends that drove the truck down were leaving on a flight later that day and did not have time to bring it back to my garage in santa fe. He declined to do so. After 10 minutes the "inoperable" truck did start again, and they were able to drive it to one of their friends homes in albuquerque. However, this house has no driveway nor garage, an the truck is street parked. I had my friend drop the key just inside of the grill out of sight. Now, my only alternative is to rent a truck here in CA and tow my race car trailer to nm and pick up the truck myself next weekend. Das was unapolagetic when I talked with them on the phone today about the situation. Moral of the story; don't use dependalble auto shippers.

Sorry to hear of your bad fortune. If you would like help sorting out your hot no-start issue, I suggest you start a thread in electrical tech complete with a meticulous and thorough rundown of every electrical/ignition component which has been changed out and is currently in series under your hood along with plenty of well-focused pictures from various angles.
