I've got a 1968 1200c 4x4. It seems to run fine, but I've noticed when you get it to 45+ mph there seems to be a ruff feeling vibration somewhere. I don't know where to start looking. Any ideas what I should look for? Thanks
Check the u-joints for one that is loose--give them all a shot of grease to see if it helps.
Check the motor mounts for one that is broken.
Check the transmission and transfer case mounts for any loose or missing bolts.
Have the tires rebalanced and rotated.
I have a '61 cadillac that I had to have one of the front wheels balanced on the car. For some reasons all of the balance weights came off of the brake drum. That particular wheel has more than 26 ounces on it to get it to stop bouncing.
re 61 caddy -- seems like a lot of weight for an oob brake drum. Why not take the drum to a balance shop that does flywheels / pressure plates and have it balanced?
