Turn Signal Switch

I am replacing my turn signal switch and am stuck. There’s a ring that seems to hold everything in place, but I do not see how to remove it, pictured below. It doesn’t seem to turn or slide and I don’t want to break anything using the wrong force. Can anyone tell me how to remove this?

It requires a "special service tool". The FSM has instructions to make one. It's not hard to do, The tool compresses a spring allowing the lock ring to be removed.

Thanks everyone. I got that tool from Autozone as a loaner. The cancelling cam snapped pretty easily in the process. I ended up just modifying the tool a little to just push back the snap ring and digging out the C clip. Got the turn signal replaced and now to get a new cam. IHPA has it :)

Thanks,
Mike
